- What file formats does Paperlane Editor support?
- .md, .markdown, and .txt — plain text files, opened and saved directly, no import/export step.
- Where are my documents stored?
- Wherever you save them — a folder on your Mac, On This Device on iPhone, or the optional Paperlane Editor iCloud Drive library. No Paperlane Editor account.
- Does Paperlane Editor sync?
- Only if you use the iCloud Drive library, or if you save into a folder that iCloud Drive / Dropbox already syncs. Paperlane Editor does not run its own cloud.
- Does Paperlane Editor collect any data?
- No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. It's a local, sandboxed app that reads and writes the files you point it at, and nothing else. See the Paperlane Editor privacy policy.
- What versions are required?
- macOS 14 or later. iPhone and iPad need iOS 17 or later.
- I found a bug. How do I report it?
- Email support@error404.nl with what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. Screenshots help.
- How do I request a feature?
- Same address. Tell us what you're trying to do, not just the feature you have in mind — it usually leads to a better fix.
